Very few spare parts for antique cash registers come up for sale in the UK. There are many different sizes and models and most people need help in getting the exact correct item that they require. Over time we have accumulated a considerable amount of spare parts. We should be able to help you replace or repair many of the items that are more commonly broken or missing such as Marble Change Plates, Screws, Glass, Keys, Top Corners etc etc. We will work with you to identify the exact part that you require and if we don’t have it ourselves we have many contacts in the United States. The item that you require can usually be found but it may take us a while to track it down.

Jammed?
The most common problem with old National cash registers is that they jam and once jammed they aren’t as much fun anymore! We are very familiar with the main reasons for this and offer an un-jamming service in our workshop. We get jammed antique tills up and running again about 75% of the time. However, sometimes it’s impossible if the machine has rusted solid inside or a key component has broken it is sometimes, sadly, impossible to get them going again.

Servicing
If your machine is working OK but hasn’t had much love recently it could probably do with a service in our workshop. We will strip it down, removing all the outer panels and thoroughly lubricate all the important moving parts before putting it back together again.
We do not usually collect but might do so if we happen to be going to your area. Unfortunately these beautiful machines are extremely heavy and therefore difficult/expensive to ship. The only realistic method of getting them to us in one piece is to use a door to door courier. We use specialist couriers that will collect from you and safely deliver direct to us for around £50 anywhere in the UK. Delivery to us directly by yourself is obviously the best and most common way.

General Repairs
If your cash register just needs some general repair work to make it lovely again just email us an enquiry (see details on our “Contact” page) and we will give you a quote. We have taken on many different challenges in the past and will just say no if it’s out of our scope. Jobs that we have done include replacing cracked marble change plates, missing amount tabs on the keys and glass panels at the top. Sometimes we are simply asked to give the brass or nickel panels a full on professional clean or sort out a lock and provide new keys.
